The large reptile had drawn concern from residents after being spotted scavenging through rubbish, prompting local authorities to mobilise a response team.
The capture operation was conducted with caution given the size and potential danger posed by the animal. Specialists employed established protocols to safely restrain and contain the crocodile without causing harm to the creature or putting personnel at risk.
The incident highlights ongoing concerns about wildlife encounters in populated areas of Sarawak, particularly as urban expansion increasingly overlaps with natural habitats. Authorities have not yet disclosed where the crocodile will be relocated or whether it will be held for observation.
state wildlife officials remind residents in affected areas to exercise vigilance when disposing of waste and to report any further sightings of large reptiles to local authorities immediately rather than attempting independent intervention.
