17 Malaysians missing in Nepal-Tibet floods during Mount Kailash pilgrimage
A group of 17 Malaysian pilgrims has lost contact while travelling to Mount Kailash in Tibet following recent flooding in the Nepal-Tibet region. A separate Malaysian contingent led by renowned Everest climber N. Mohanadas has been confirmed safe.

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 — Seventeen Malaysians on a religious pilgrimage to Mount Kailash in Tibet have gone out of contact amid severe flooding affecting the Nepal-Tibet border region, raising concerns among their families and local authorities.
The group was travelling to the sacred mountain as part of an organised pilgrimage when communications were lost. Efforts to establish contact and determine their precise location are ongoing, according to reports from Malaysia.
In contrast, a second Malaysian group participating in the Mount Kailash pilgrimage has been accounted for and confirmed safe. The group is being led by N. Mohanadas, a prominent Malaysian mountaineer known for his successful ascent of Mount Everest.
Flood conditions across Nepal and the Tibet region have disrupted transportation networks and communications infrastructure in recent days. Authorities in both countries are coordinating efforts to assist affected travellers and gather information about those reported missing.
Families of the missing pilgrims are being kept informed of developments as search and assistance operations continue in the affected areas.
