PUTRAJAYA: 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) is engaged in settlement discussions with Deutsche Bank (Malaysia) Berhad to resolve their dispute, the fund said in a statement.
The talks represent part of 1MDB's broader strategy to address outstanding litigation and recover assets related to the fund's troubled history. The investment fund has faced multiple legal challenges domestically and internationally following investigations into alleged mismanagement and financial irregularities.
A resolution with Deutsche Bank would add to previous settlement agreements 1MDB has reached with other parties. The fund has been working to stabilise its finances and resolve pending claims as it seeks to rebuild its operations and fulfil its original mandate.
Details of the ongoing negotiations, including potential settlement amounts or timelines, were not disclosed. Both parties have indicated they are committed to finding a mutually acceptable resolution through the talks.
