28 Kannadigas unaccounted for in Nepal, Tibet floods
A large contingent of people from Karnataka remain stranded or missing following flash floods that swept through Nepal and Tibet. The majority of those affected are from Bengaluru, with others from districts across the state.

Twenty-eight residents of Karnataka have been reported stranded or missing in the wake of devastating flash floods in Nepal and Tibet, according to information compiled by the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) on Friday morning.
Of those unaccounted for, 23 hail from Bengaluru Urban district, two from Mysuru, and one each from Dharwad, Udupi and Vijayanagara districts. The exact circumstances of how the group became separated and the current status of rescue and relief operations remain unclear.
The flash floods have caused significant disruption across the region, with multiple areas affected by the natural disaster. Authorities in Karnataka are coordinating with counterparts in neighboring states and international agencies to locate and assist the stranded individuals.
The state government has expressed concern over the incident and appealed to citizens planning travel to Nepal and Tibet to exercise caution given the hazardous weather conditions. Families of the missing persons have been urged to contact the SEOC with any information that may aid in the search and rescue operations.
