India is coordinating humanitarian relief efforts following devastating flash floods in Nepal, with nearly 300 Indian nationals still missing. New Delhi says it is mobilising resources as requested by the Kathmandu government.

At least 288 Indian citizens remain unaccounted for in the aftermath of severe flash floods that have swept across Nepal, according to the Ministry of External Affairs. The MEA spokesperson confirmed that India is actively engaged in relief operations, working to provide humanitarian assistance in coordination with Nepalese authorities.
India is mobilising Bailey bridges and other infrastructure resources to support rescue and reconstruction efforts, the MEA stated. However, officials indicated that no formal requests have been received so far to deploy the National Disaster Response Force or Army Corps of Engineers personnel to the affected areas, though New Delhi remains prepared to respond to any such request from the Kathmandu government.
The floods have caused significant casualties and displacement across Nepal, affecting multiple districts. India has emphasised that its assistance will be calibrated to meet the specific humanitarian needs identified by the Nepali government and will continue to work in close coordination with Kathmandu.
The MEA has urged Indian nationals in the flood-affected regions to exercise caution and coordinate with Indian diplomatic missions for any assistance requirements. Relief operations remain ongoing as search efforts continue for the missing persons.
