500+ global investors worth $1 trillion to gather for inaugural iBRICS Summit

The inaugural iBRICS Summit will take place September 12-13 alongside the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit in India's capital, bringing together major institutional investors to explore investment opportunities across BRICS member states and partner nations. The Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute, which is organizing the event, said the summit aims to connect sovereign capital with bankable infrastructure, energy, and digital capacity projects spanning the 21 BRICS members.

The timing of the summit reflects growing pressures on BRICS economies navigating shifting global trade patterns, rising US tariff barriers, and elevated costs associated with dollar-based clearing mechanisms. "With tariffs and sanctions stressing traditional corridors, funds and ministries need direct access to allocate capital differently. We are providing that dedicated venue alongside the Leaders' Summit," said Lakshmi Narayanan, chairman of the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute and lead co-chair of iBRICS.

The summit represents a significant platform for BRICS nations to mobilize capital toward regional development priorities while diversifying investment flows away from traditional Western-dominated channels. By facilitating direct dialogue between sovereign wealth managers and project developers, organizers hope to accelerate capital deployment into emerging market infrastructure and clean energy initiatives across the bloc.
