7-Eleven expands hot-food offerings across 16 Singapore locations

7-Eleven is deepening its food-and-beverage footprint in Singapore by introducing hot-food counters at 16 stores, marking the latest move by operator DFI Retail Group to expand beyond traditional convenience offerings.

The new counters will serve a range of freshly prepared items designed to appeal to time-pressed consumers seeking affordable meal options. The menu encompasses customisable bowls priced from $4.50, alongside pizza and waffles, providing customers with variety across different dayparts.

The rollout reflects DFI Retail's broader strategy to sharpen its growth focus through experiential retail concepts that encourage repeat visits and increase basket size. By integrating hot-food preparation into its store format, 7-Eleven aims to position itself as a destination for quick meals rather than solely a grab-and-go retailer.

The expansion comes as convenience stores across Southeast Asia increasingly compete on food quality and customisation to differentiate themselves in a crowded market. The initiative also aligns with evolving consumer preferences in Singapore, where premium convenience and value-for-money propositions are gaining traction among working professionals and younger shoppers.
