72 Malaysians confirmed safe in Tibet; 55 unaccounted for in Nepal
The Foreign Ministry has confirmed that a group of 72 Malaysians in Darchen, Tibet are safe following recent natural disasters in the region. However, 55 Malaysians remain uncontactable after floods and landslides struck Nepal's Rasuwa district.

Wisma Putra, Malaysia's Foreign Ministry, announced that 72 Malaysian citizens in Darchen, Tibet have been accounted for and are in safe condition. The confirmation comes as the ministry continues efforts to locate and assist nationals affected by severe weather events across the region.
Separately, the ministry reported that 55 Malaysians in Nepal's Rasuwa district remain uncontactable following devastating floods and landslides that have impacted the area. The natural disasters have caused significant disruption to communications and accessibility in affected communities.
Foreign Ministry officials are actively working to establish contact with the missing Malaysians and coordinate with local authorities and international partners to ensure their safety. The ministry urged Malaysian citizens in the affected areas to report their status through official channels and embassies if possible.
The incidents underscore the risks faced by Malaysian travellers and residents in regions prone to seasonal natural disasters. Wisma Putra has advised citizens to exercise caution and stay informed about weather conditions in areas they plan to visit or currently occupy in South and Southeast Asia.
