8-year-old girl killed in Uttar Pradesh; man arrested in connection

An 8-year-old girl was found dead in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh following an attack by a man who allegedly enticed her away from her residence. According to initial police reports, the accused lured the child approximately 500 metres from her home using the promise of golgappas, a popular street snack.
The girl was taken to an isolated location where she was sexually assaulted, authorities said. Following the assault, the accused allegedly struck her on the head with an iron rod, resulting in fatal injuries.
Local police registered a case following the discovery of the child and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. The accused has been taken into custody for questioning. The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to rape and murder.
The incident has sparked fresh concerns about child safety in the region. Police said investigations are ongoing to establish a complete timeline of events and gather evidence in the matter.
