Aavin hikes prices on 25 milk products ahead of festival season
Tamil Nadu's state dairy cooperative has increased rates across its milk-based product range, with curd and ghee seeing significant price jumps as the festive Deepavali period approaches.

Aavin, the Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation, has announced a broad price increase affecting approximately 25 milk-based products in its portfolio. The hike takes effect ahead of the Deepavali festival, when demand for dairy items traditionally rises across Indian households.
Among the most substantial increases, curd prices have risen by ₹10 per kilogram, while ghee—a staple ingredient in festival preparations and traditional sweets—has seen a more pronounced increase of ₹80 per kilogram. The price adjustments reflect the broader product range, with variations across different items and package sizes.
The cooperative attributed the price revision to rising operational costs and input expenses. Aavin serves as a major supplier of dairy products across Tamil Nadu, supplying milk, curd, ghee, butter, and other dairy items to consumers through its extensive retail network.
The timing of the price increase, during the festival season when consumption peaks, is likely to impact household budgets across the state. Consumers purchasing dairy products for Deepavali preparations and festivities will face higher costs across Aavin's product portfolio during the coming weeks.
