ABVP names Yash Dabas as presidential candidate for Delhi University student polls

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has announced its full panel of candidates for four central positions in the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections scheduled for the 2026-27 academic year. Yash Dabas has been nominated as the party's presidential candidate.

The elections are set to take place on September 18, with results to be declared on September 19. The contest will see the ABVP facing off against the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of the Congress party.

The campaign is expected to centre on key student welfare issues including campus security, hostel facilities, and improvements to university infrastructure. Both organisations have traditionally competed on such bread-and-butter concerns affecting Delhi University's student population.

The DUSU elections are among India's largest student union polls and often serve as a barometer for broader political sentiment among Delhi's college-going demographic.
