Activist Abhijit Dipke has escalated pressure on the election commission, warning of fresh protests at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi by late October if Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar does not resign from his position.
Dipke said a series of demonstrations would precede the planned Delhi action, with protests scheduled across multiple states including Maharashtra. The activist indicated that protests at Mumbai's Shivaji Park would be among the state-level demonstrations planned in the coming weeks.
The announcement marks an intensification of Dipke's campaign against the election commission leadership. The activist has previously used Jantar Mantar, a traditional venue for political demonstrations in the capital, to voice concerns over electoral governance and administrative accountability.
No official response from the Chief Election Commission or its leadership has been reported regarding the activist's demands.
