The demonstration, organised by the Delhi Coordination Committee of People Against SIR, commenced near Gole Dak Khana at the intersection of Kalibari Marg and Bhai Vir Singh Marg. The protest drew support from multiple student and youth organisations, including the Krantikari Yuva Sangathan and Students' Federation of India, with participants travelling from Delhi, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh.
The march proceeded toward the ECI headquarters in central Delhi as part of a broader campaign against what organisers characterise as unauthorised deletion of voter names from electoral rolls during the revision process. The movement has framed the protest as a people's collective action, seeking to mobilise support across various social sectors.
Deli Police and Rapid Action Force personnel were deployed in substantial numbers along the march route, particularly in the vicinity of Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, as authorities maintained heightened security measures throughout the city centre. Organisers appealed to farmers, workers, youth and women from diverse sections of society to participate, with participants encouraged to carry national flags during the demonstration.
The organisers emphasised their commitment to maintaining a peaceful protest while pressing their demands for an end to the electoral roll revision process they contend is disenfranchising eligible voters.
