Actor Chiranjeevi launches eco-friendly Ganesha idols embedded with seeds

Telugu cinema star Chiranjeevi has introduced a novel approach to celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi by launching biodegradable Ganesha idols embedded with seeds of indigenous tree species. The clay idols are designed to dissolve completely when immersed in water at home, allowing the seeds within to germinate and grow into mature plants.

The initiative addresses growing environmental concerns associated with idol immersion practices. Traditional clay and plaster idols often contain non-biodegradable materials and chemical dyes that pollute water bodies when immersed in rivers and lakes. These eco-conscious alternatives eliminate such concerns while promoting afforestation simultaneously.
