Actor Josh Duhamel criticizes Netflix over 'Ransom Canyon' cancellation

Josh Duhamel has voiced his displeasure after Netflix terminated 'Ransom Canyon', the action thriller series in which he starred. The cancellation marks another instance of the streaming giant cutting back on its original programming slate, a trend that has affected numerous productions in recent months.

Duhamel's criticism reflects broader frustrations within the entertainment industry regarding Netflix's approach to series renewals and cancellations. Streaming platforms have increasingly faced scrutiny for their programming decisions, particularly when popular shows are discontinued despite viewer engagement.

The actor's public response underscores tensions between content creators and streaming services over production sustainability and investment in original programming. 'Ransom Canyon' had garnered viewer interest as an action-focused series, making its cancellation a surprising move for some industry observers.

Netflix has not issued a formal response to Duhamel's comments. The cancellation continues a pattern of strategic content pruning at the streaming platform as it seeks to optimize its content library and reduce production costs.
