Adani Airports Holdings Limited (AAHL) has secured $1 billion in fresh capital from a consortium of prominent global institutional investors, signalling strong confidence in the company's growth trajectory and India's aviation infrastructure expansion.
The investment will be structured in three tranches involving Alpha Wave Global, Premji Invest, Temasek, and funds managed by BlackRock. Upon completion of the investment cycle, these investors will collectively hold about 5.54 per cent equity in AAHL, one of India's largest airport operators.
The capital infusion comes as Adani Airports continues expanding its portfolio across Indian cities. The company operates multiple airports and has been pursuing strategic growth initiatives to enhance capacity and modernise facilities to meet rising domestic and international air traffic demands.
The participation of international sovereign wealth funds and leading asset managers underscores growing investor appetite for India's infrastructure sector, particularly airport operations which have benefited from sustained growth in passenger traffic and rising business travel in the region.
