Adani Airports Holdings has announced plans to redevelop the north section of Terminal 1B at Mumbai's Bombay High Street Airport, marking another phase of modernization at the facility. The project will temporarily deoperationalize capacity equivalent to around 5 million passengers per year, representing approximately 9 per cent of the airport's total annual traffic of nearly 55 million passengers.
The redevelopment initiative forms part of broader infrastructure enhancement efforts at the airport, which has seen significant expansion and modernization in recent years. Terminal 1B handles a substantial portion of the airport's passenger traffic, and the phased approach to its redevelopment aims to minimize disruption to overall airport operations.
Mumbai Airport, officially known as Bombay High Street, remains one of South Asia's largest aviation centers by passenger volume. The Adani-operated facility continues to invest in terminal upgrades and infrastructure improvements to accommodate India's growing air travel demand and enhance passenger experience.
The company has not disclosed specific timelines for the redevelopment project or detailed specifications for the planned improvements to the terminal's northern section. Further details regarding the scope and duration of the work are expected to be provided in subsequent communications.
