Adani Defence Secures Five-Year Ammunition Supply Contract for AK-203

Adani Defence & Aerospace has signed a five-year supply agreement to provide 7.62x39 mm ammunition for the AK-203 rifle, marking a significant step in India's effort to bolster domestic defence production. The ammunition will be supplied to Indo-Russian Rifles, the joint venture that manufactures the assault rifle at its facility in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh.

The AK-203 is produced under a technology transfer agreement between India and Russia, with the rifle serving as a modern platform for the Indian armed forces. By securing domestic ammunition supply through Adani Defence, the contract aims to establish a self-sufficient ecosystem for the weapon system's operational requirements.

The five-year tenure of the agreement provides stability in the supply chain while allowing for scaling of production capabilities. This development is part of the Indian government's broader Make in India initiative within the defence sector, which seeks to develop indigenous manufacturing capacity and reduce dependence on foreign suppliers for critical military components.
