Adani Energy Solutions Limited has won a ₹4,700 crore transmission infrastructure project in Maharashtra, marking a significant expansion of the group's presence in the state's power distribution network.
The project centres on establishing transmission infrastructure to evacuate renewable energy generated in Karnataka and channel it into Maharashtra's grid. The scope encompasses supporting pumped storage projects planned across three regions: Satara, Pune, and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
Pumped storage hydroelectric schemes operate by storing energy during low-demand periods by pumping water uphill, then releasing it through turbines during peak demand hours. These facilities play a crucial role in grid stability and renewable energy integration.
The contract underscores Adani Energy Solutions' growing footprint in India's energy infrastructure sector as states prioritize renewable energy adoption and grid modernization. Maharashtra has been actively developing its renewable energy capacity and transmission networks to support the country's clean energy targets.
