Adani Ports launches dedicated empty container facility at Mundra
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) has announced the launch of a dedicated empty container yard at its Mundra Port facility. The integrated operation aims to streamline logistics and reduce costs for shipping lines and exporters across India's international trade corridors.

APSEZ, the nation's largest integrated transport operator, said the dedicated Empty Container Yard (ECY) will provide comprehensive end-to-end services throughout the empty container lifecycle, including storage, maintenance, inspection and seamless movement to exporters and container freight stations (CFSs).
The company stated that on-site operations will strengthen safety, security and regulatory compliance at the facility. The initiative is designed to improve container handling efficiency and enhance service quality for shipping lines and customers utilising Mundra Port.
APSEZ noted that faster vessel turnaround times and optimised use of port infrastructure through the dedicated facility will help reduce overall logistics costs for users. The development reinforces Mundra's position as a strategic gateway for India's international trade network.
The port operator said the initiative aligns with the government's vision for infrastructure development and economic growth. APSEZ operates 45.5 per cent of India's total container port capacity, making it the dominant player in the country's container handling sector.
