Adani Group stocks recovered ground in intraday trading on Tuesday, reversing losses from the previous session when the conglomerate faced a sharp market correction. Adani Green Energy emerged as the strongest performer among group companies, climbing as much as 4.69 per cent during the day's session.
The rebound came after MSCI Inc. announced changes to its indices that resulted in significant selling pressure on Adani-listed companies. The index adjustments had prompted substantial outflows from international funds tracking MSCI benchmarks, weighing on the group's share valuations.
Market analysts attributed Tuesday's recovery to stabilization following the initial shock of the index adjustment. The bounce-back suggested bargain-hunting by domestic investors and short-covering by traders who had positioned for further declines.
The episode underscored the sensitivity of large-cap stocks to index composition changes, particularly when substantial foreign fund flows are contingent on benchmark weightings. Adani Group companies remain among India's most actively traded stocks by international fund managers.
Market participants will watch for sustained recovery momentum in coming sessions as investors assess whether the latest volatility marks a temporary correction or signals broader concerns about the conglomerate's valuations and business operations.
