Adani Total Gas raises CNG prices sharply as LNG costs surge
Adani Total Gas Ltd has increased compressed natural gas prices by ₹4.45 per kilogram across its distribution network, blaming elevated international LNG prices and constrained domestic gas supplies for the hike.

City gas distributor Adani Total Gas Ltd has implemented a significant price increase for compressed natural gas (CNG) across its operational areas in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and other states, citing mounting procurement expenses. The price rise of ₹4.45 per kilogram reflects the company's response to surging global liquefied natural gas (LNG) costs and reduced domestic gas availability, according to a company statement.
Following the revision, CNG retail prices now stand at ₹98.47 per kilogram in Ahmedabad, ₹102.60 per kilogram in Faridabad, Haryana, and ₹100 per kilogram in Jalandhar, according to current rates displayed on the company's website.
The price adjustment comes as global spot LNG prices have climbed to approximately USD 30 per million British thermal units (MMBtu), a marked increase from USD 10-12 levels recorded earlier in the year. This surge in international gas costs has made imported supplies significantly more expensive for domestic distributors.
Adani Total Gas attributed the hike partly to reduced availability of new well gas from domestic fields operated by state-owned ONGC and declining supplies of high-pressure, high-temperature gas following upstream supply curtailments. The company said the combination of factors had necessitated the price revision to maintain operational viability.
