ADB Backs Sri Lanka's Rooftop Solar and Virtual Net Metering Drive

The Asian Development Bank has committed financial support to accelerate the deployment of rooftop solar photovoltaic systems and virtual net metering infrastructure in Sri Lanka, marking a significant step toward broadening renewable energy adoption across the island nation.

The financing facility targets residential and commercial property owners, enabling them to install solar panels on rooftops while benefiting from a virtual net metering framework.
