Shares of Aditya Infotech jumped to the upper circuit limit on Tuesday after the company's board authorised a qualified institutional placement (QIP) to raise capital from institutional investors. The stock touched the 5% upper circuit, reflecting strong investor interest in the announcement.
The board, which met on Monday, fixed the floor price for the QIP at ₹3,648.43 per share. The placement is scheduled to open on September 22, allowing the company to mobilise funds from qualified institutional buyers including mutual funds, insurance companies, and other eligible entities.
The rally underscores sustained momentum in Aditya Infotech's stock this year. The company's shares have surged 151% since the beginning of 2024, significantly outpacing broader market indices. The QIP announcement has further fuelled investor sentiment around the technology services firm.
QIPs offer listed companies a faster route to raise funds compared to rights issues or public offerings, as they bypass regulatory requirements for shareholder approval and public disclosure periods. The placement mechanism allows companies to tap institutional capital at competitive valuations.
