The short-form video content sector in India is poised for substantial monetisation through advertising, with projections showing rapid revenue growth in the coming years. According to a Redseer report, advertising revenue from micro-dramas is estimated at Rs 210 crore in FY27 and is forecast to exceed Rs 5,000 crore by FY32, representing nearly 24-fold growth over the five-year period. The expansion reflects growing advertiser interest in the short-form content space, which has emerged as a dominant media consumption format among Indian audiences. The shift towards advertising-driven monetisation models is expected to unlock new profit opportunities for content creators and platforms operating in this segment. Industry observers attribute the projected growth to increasing smartphone penetration, improved digital infrastructure, and rising consumer engagement with bite-sized entertainment content across India's tier-two and tier-three cities.
