Aequs secures long-term aerospace supply deal with French firm Safran

Aequs, a leading Indian aerospace and defence components manufacturer based in Belagavi, Karnataka, has announced multi-year supply agreements with Safran, the French multinational aerospace and defence corporation. The contracts represent a significant expansion of the company's presence in the global aerospace supply chain.

Under the agreements, Aequs will undertake substantial manufacturing and assembly operations at its newly established Aequs Engine Components Ecosystem (AECE) facility located in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The facility is designed to serve as a dedicated hub for producing critical engine components for aerospace applications, leveraging advanced manufacturing technologies and skilled workforce capabilities.

The long-term nature of the supply contracts underscores Safran's confidence in Aequs's manufacturing capabilities and quality standards. Such partnerships are crucial for Indian aerospace companies seeking to establish themselves as reliable suppliers to global original equipment manufacturers and tier-one aerospace vendors.

The development signals growing momentum in India's aerospace manufacturing sector, with domestic companies increasingly participating in global supply chains for commercial and defence aircraft engines. The Hosur facility's establishment reflects broader industry trends towards decentralised manufacturing hubs in southern India to support the expanding aerospace ecosystem.
