Misty conditions are likely to affect several locations in the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during the early morning hours of Sunday, 5 October 2026, according to forecasters.

Showers and thundershowers are expected to develop across most parts of the island after 1:00 p.m., the meteorological department said in its forecast issued at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Residents and commuters are advised to exercise caution during the afternoon period when rainfall is anticipated. The forecast suggests that thundershowers may be accompanied by localized weather disruptions typical of such conditions.

The Department of Meteorology continues to monitor atmospheric conditions and will issue updated forecasts as necessary throughout the day.
