Misty conditions are anticipated in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces during the early morning hours of October 10, according to the Department of Meteorology's forecast issued at 05:30 a.m.

Showers and thundershowers are expected to develop across most parts of the island from 1:00 p.m. onwards, the meteorological department warned. The afternoon and evening period is likely to see significant rainfall activity across the country.

Residents are advised to take precautions as thundershower activity may bring localized disruptions. Visibility may be reduced in misty areas during the early morning hours, potentially affecting commuter traffic in the affected provinces.

The forecast indicates that weather conditions will become more unsettled as the day progresses, with precipitation becoming widespread by midday.
