Afternoon showers forecast across multiple provinces today
The Department of Meteorology has issued a forecast for widespread rainfall across Sri Lanka on September 28, with showers expected to intensify in the afternoon hours across several provinces and districts.

Several spells of showers are anticipated in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts throughout the day, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Additional rainfall activity is expected to develop after 2:00 p.m. in several locations across the Uva and Eastern provinces. The Polonnaruwa and Mullaitivu districts are also forecast to experience showers or thundershowers during the afternoon period.
Residents in affected areas should remain alert to changing weather conditions and take necessary precautions in preparation for the anticipated rainfall.
