KUALA LUMPUR — The Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) said Monday it would not proceed with four charges against former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, attributing the decision to concerns over evidence sufficiency and potential litigation risks.
The decision represents a partial withdrawal of charges against the Perikatan Nasional chairman. A spokesperson for the AGC clarified that the move was made following a careful assessment of the legal merits and practical considerations surrounding prosecution.
Three charges stemming from the Jana Wibawa matter remain active against Muhyiddin. The AGC statement underscored that the retained charges continue to be pursued based on available evidence and legal grounds deemed sufficient for trial.
