Fresh voting will be conducted at three polling booths in Agra to determine the outcome of the Legislative Council election after results from the initial poll on October 23 were declared void.

The election commission nullified the voting at these specific stations citing irregularities during the counting and verification process. The decision was made under Section 58A(2)(a) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, which empowers authorities to invalidate polls conducted at particular booths where procedural violations are established.

Election officials have scheduled the repolling to ensure the integrity of the democratic process and allow all eligible voters at these stations a fresh opportunity to exercise their franchise. The exact date and timing for the fresh polls have been finalized by the district administration in coordination with election authorities.

The move comes as part of measures to address concerns raised during the initial counting process at these three locations. Officials have indicated that additional safeguards will be implemented during the repolling to prevent any further irregularities.

The Legislative Council election process in Agra will remain partially incomplete until repolling concludes at these booths, after which final results will be certified by the election commission.
