Chandrakant Panchal was arrested by Ahmedabad police following allegations that he manipulated a family through false spiritual claims to gain access to their minor daughter. Panchal allegedly convinced the family that their child was under demonic possession and required ritualistic intervention, using the pretext to exploit the vulnerable minor.

The arrest comes after the family filed a complaint with local authorities, detailing how Panchal had systematically gained their trust through claims of supernatural expertise. Police said the accused targeted families in vulnerable situations, leveraging their fears and beliefs to perpetrate abuse under the cover of religious practices.

Investigating officers stated that Panchal operated without any formal qualifications or credentials, posing as a spiritual healer or exorcist. The case highlights concerns about fraudulent practitioners who exploit families' desperation and cultural beliefs for personal gain.

The minor has been provided assistance through appropriate child welfare channels. Police are investigating whether other families may have been similarly victimized by the accused and have appealed to potential victims to come forward with information.
