The transition to an artificial intelligence-enabled world cannot be halted, but the speed and depth of its adoption will ultimately hinge on regulatory policies and cost considerations, according to Shantanu Rooj, Founder and CEO of TeamLease EdTech.
As AI becomes embedded in mainstream business operations, simply possessing AI competencies will no longer serve as a competitive advantage, Rooj said. Instead, professionals who combine domain expertise with analytical capabilities and the ability to leverage frontier technologies for tangible business outcomes will gain significant market advantage.
"People with domain skills, analytical skills and transformation professionals who can examine workflows, identify industry inefficiencies, and deploy AI to enhance revenues, reduce costs or improve customer engagement will likely find considerable favour," Rooj told PTI.
Rejecting characterizations of AI as a temporary disruption, Rooj drew parallels to climate change, emphasizing that the technology's impact represents a fundamental, permanent shift rather than a cyclical trend. The distinction carries important implications for businesses and workers developing long-term strategies in response to technological change.
