AI algorithms power majority of orders on Meesho e-commerce platform

Meesho, one of India's leading social commerce platforms, has become increasingly reliant on artificial intelligence to process orders and manage customer interactions. The company's proprietary AI system, called Prism, handles personalised product ranking and recommendation functions that have resulted in nearly 70 percent of platform orders being influenced by algorithmic suggestions.

The platform's investment in AI extends beyond order processing. Meesho's conversational AI agent, branded as Chorus, is managing approximately 60 percent of customer service inquiries, addressing questions related to products, payments, and logistics without human intervention. This dual deployment of machine learning systems reflects the company's broader digital transformation strategy.

The integration of AI across Meesho's operations underscores the growing adoption of automation technologies among Indian e-commerce companies seeking to improve operational efficiency and user experience. Personalised ranking systems have become critical tools for platforms looking to increase conversion rates and average order values in India's competitive online retail market.

Meesho's AI expansion comes at a time when Indian e-commerce players are investing heavily in technology infrastructure to compete with larger rivals and meet evolving consumer expectations around service quality and personalisation.
