AI must support, not supplant human judgment: Adityanath

Adityanath stressed that while artificial intelligence can enhance decision-making processes, it should remain subordinate to human oversight and judgment. "AI can help us in decision-making, but it should not be the decision-maker. It should be operated by us and guided by our discretion. We should not blindly accept its decisions," he said during the event.

The Chief Minister was inaugurating the LEXQ Centre of Excellence for quantum forensics and legal compliance at the Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Sciences. He underscored that technological progress must be accompanied by robust frameworks ensuring accountability, security and human discretion to safeguard public welfare.

Addressing delegates at the TechSangam 2026 international conference, Adityanath acknowledged that rapid digital expansion has improved operational efficiency across sectors. However, he warned that this expansion has simultaneously created significant challenges related to data security, cybercrime and the reliability of digital evidence in legal proceedings.

The Chief Minister's remarks reflect growing concerns across India about balancing technological innovation with protective measures to ensure emerging technologies serve societal interests rather than undermine established institutional frameworks or erode human agency in critical decision-making domains.
