SPH Media's chairman has pushed back against concerns that artificial intelligence will render journalists obsolete, arguing that the technology lacks the capacity to generate genuinely original content.
The executive acknowledged that newsrooms face a choice: either resist AI adoption or embrace the technology strategically. However, he contended that human reporters remain indispensable because they possess skills machines cannot replicate, particularly in developing fresh stories and original reporting.
