The AIADMK on Friday levelled accusations of administrative mismanagement against the Tamil Nadu government, with party leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami asserting that the state is being hampered by incompetent governance. Speaking at a gathering in Maraimalai Nagar to commemorate the party's 55th formation day, Palaniswami contended that several social welfare initiatives currently promoted by the ruling coalition were originally designed and implemented under AIADMK administration. Among the schemes he referenced was the marriage assistance programme for women, a flagship welfare measure that Palaniswami claimed originated during his party's earlier period in power. The remarks underscored the AIADMK's positioning ahead of forthcoming electoral contests and highlighted tensions between the opposition party and the current government over credit for welfare initiatives. Palaniswami's comments reflected broader criticisms from opposition benches regarding the administration's effectiveness in implementing state policy and delivering on governance priorities.
