AIADMK fields candidates for two Tamil Nadu assembly bypolls

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) on Tuesday declared its nominees for two vacant assembly seats in Tamil Nadu, positioning itself for the forthcoming byelections in the state.

The party has nominated Kanitha Sampath, a former member of the Legislative Assembly, to contest from the Madurantakam constituency in Chengalpattu district. Sampath's candidacy marks a return to electoral politics for the experienced legislator in the southern region of the state.

In the Dharapuram constituency located in Tiruppur district, the AIADMK fielded K. Bhanumathi as its candidate. The selection reflects the party's efforts to strengthen its presence across multiple districts in the state.

The byelections are expected to test the AIADMK's organisational strength and electoral appeal in both constituencies. The candidate announcements come as the party continues its efforts to consolidate its position in Tamil Nadu's political landscape ahead of the polls.
