Air Chief Marshal Ashutosh Dixit formally assumed charge as the 29th Chief of Air Staff on Saturday, marking a significant leadership transition at the helm of India's aerial defence force. He takes the reins from Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, who concluded his tenure after four decades of distinguished military service spanning 42 years.

The IAF has been progressively upgrading its fleet and infrastructure to address contemporary security challenges in the region and maintain strategic balance.

As the new Chief of Air Staff, Dixit will oversee operations across the force's expansive command structure while steering the ongoing acquisition and integration of advanced aircraft, weapon systems, and digital capabilities.
