Air quality improves across Sarawak as API levels return to moderate range
Air quality conditions have improved significantly across several districts in Sarawak, with the Air Pollutant Index dropping to moderate levels. Samarahan, Kanowit and Lundu have all recorded improvements as of Tuesday morning.

KUCHING, Sept 14 — Air quality readings across Sarawak showed marked improvement on Tuesday, with multiple districts returning to moderate pollution levels after previously elevated conditions.
Samarahan recorded an API reading of 98 at 8am, placing it firmly in the moderate range. The improvement represents a significant decline from earlier elevated readings in the district. Similar positive trends were observed in Kanowit and Lundu, where air quality levels also returned to moderate classification.
The API scale measures air pollutant concentrations, with readings below 100 generally considered acceptable for most of the population. Moderate levels indicate that members of sensitive groups may experience health effects, though the general public typically faces minimal impact.
The improvement in air quality conditions across these Sarawak districts provides relief following a period of concern over haze and pollution levels.
