Air quality remains healthy across Malaysia with 47 areas in moderate range

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 31 — Malaysia maintained healthy air quality standards this afternoon, with no areas reporting unhealthy pollution readings, according to the latest Air Pollutant Index data.

Cheras emerged as the location with the highest API reading at 77, placing it within the moderate range. Across the country, 47 areas similarly recorded moderate API levels, indicating acceptable air quality for the general population despite some caution recommended for sensitive groups.

The moderate readings suggest continued stability in air quality conditions nationwide. The API scale categorizes readings below 50 as good, 51-100 as moderate, 101-200 as unhealthy, 201-300 as very unhealthy, and above 300 as hazardous.

No districts or regions reported API readings in the unhealthy or hazardous categories, providing reassurance to residents and authorities monitoring air pollution levels across peninsular Malaysia and the East Malaysian states.
