Air quality unhealthy across 26 Malaysian locations, Pasir Gudang worst affected

Malaysia's air quality deteriorated across multiple regions Wednesday evening, with nearly a quarter of monitored areas falling below healthy standards. The Department of Environment recorded unhealthy readings in 26 locations, signalling a concerning trend in atmospheric pollution levels across the country.

Pasir Gudang in Johor emerged as the worst-affected area, posting the highest air quality index reading among all monitored zones. The industrial region, which has experienced air quality challenges in the past, once again topped the pollution rankings during the evening measurement period.

The bulk of Malaysia's monitored locations reported moderate air quality levels, with 41 areas recording readings at this intermediate stage. Only one area registered good air quality, indicating that widespread atmospheric concerns were affecting most regions surveyed.

Autorities continue to monitor air quality fluctuations across the country as part of ongoing environmental health protocols. Residents in affected areas are advised to remain alert to air quality advisories and take appropriate precautions if necessary.
