TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — AirAsia Philippines has suspended its operations in Bohol following the arrival of its last scheduled flight at Bohol-Panglao International Airport (BPIA) on Wednesday morning. An Airbus A320 aircraft operating Flight Z2354 landed at the airport at approximately 9:45 a.m., completing the airline's final service on the Manila-Bohol route.
The decision marks a significant shift in the airline's regional network strategy. BPIA, located on Panglao Island, has served as a key gateway for domestic and international travelers heading to Bohol's popular tourist destinations, including the Chocolate Hills and pristine beaches.
The suspension comes amid broader adjustments in regional airline operations across the Philippines, where carriers reassess their networks based on demand patterns and operational efficiency. AirAsia's withdrawal from the route leaves other airlines to serve the Bohol market, including carriers such as Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific Air.
Travelers previously relying on AirAsia for connections between Manila and Bohol will need to seek alternative routes through competing carriers operating on the route.
