Airtel Money lists on London Stock Exchange with $7bn valuation

The listing marks a significant milestone for the African-focused fintech platform and reinforces London's position as a premier global investment destination, according to Sunil Mittal, founder of Airtel and Bharti Enterprises.

"This listing is a vote of confidence in the UK as an attractive global destination for investment, with a stable business and policy environment attractive for long-term investors," Mittal said in a statement on the listing.

The IPO builds on Bharti Enterprises' established presence in the United Kingdom, which includes a strategic stake in BT announced last year, shareholding in satellite communications firm Eutelsat alongside the UK Government, and hospitality assets including the Scottish resort Gleneagles.

The Airtel Money listing represents the conglomerate's second major equity offering on the LSE, following Airtel Africa's 2019 debut on the exchange. The platform provides digital financial services across multiple African markets, leveraging technology infrastructure to expand financial inclusion in the region.

The successful listing underscores growing investor appetite for emerging market fintech platforms and Bharti's strategy to tap international capital markets for scaling operations across Africa.
