Giani Kuldip Singh Gargaj, the Jathedar of Akal Takht, has condemned the alleged police action that took place inside a gurdwara in Rajasthan, stating that it compromised the sacred nature of the religious space. The Jathedar, who holds the highest spiritual and temporal authority in Sikhism, said the incident had caused hurt among the Sikh community.

According to the Akal Takht leadership, the police operation breached the dignity of the gurdwara and violated the religious sentiments of Sikhs who regard such spaces as inviolable places of worship. The incident has raised concerns about the conduct of law enforcement agencies within sacred religious sites.

The protest from the Akal Takht underscores the sensitivity surrounding law enforcement actions in places of worship across India. Religious organisations have long maintained that police operations within temples, gurdwaras, mosques, and churches should be conducted with utmost care and respect for the sanctity of these spaces.

The criticism comes amid broader discussions about balancing public order requirements with the protection of religious freedom and the dignity of faith communities in India.
