Flight QP 1925, operating from Ahmedabad to Kolkata, experienced a tail strike during its initial landing approach at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. In response to the incident, the pilots initiated a go-around procedure—a standard safety protocol in which the aircraft climbs and circles for another landing attempt.

The airline confirmed that following the go-around maneuver, the aircraft completed its descent and touched down safely at the airport. All passengers and crew members aboard the flight were unharmed during the incident.

Tail strikes occur when the rear fuselage of an aircraft makes contact with the runway during landing, typically happening at steep approach angles. While such incidents are uncommon, they are generally managed through proper pilot training and adherence to standard operating procedures.

Akasa Air, which commenced operations in August 2022, operates a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft on routes across India. The airline has not disclosed further details regarding the incident or its potential investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tail strike.
