Akasa Air has announced a further extension to its flight suspensions on routes connecting India to Saudi Arabia's major cities, impacting passengers who had booked travel to Jeddah and Riyadh. The airline has not disclosed specific reasons for the prolonged operational pause on these services.
To address passenger concerns, Akasa Air has outlined a passenger assistance policy permitting full refunds for cancelled bookings. Alternatively, affected travellers may request free rescheduling on alternative flights operated by the airline without incurring additional charges.
Passengers seeking either option must submit their requests within seven days of the suspension announcement. The airline has not specified when normal operations on these routes are expected to resume.
This marks the latest operational challenge for the low-cost carrier, which launched services in August 2022. The suspension affects a key market segment, as Saudi Arabia remains a significant destination for Indian workers and business travellers. Akasa Air has advised passengers to check the airline's official channels for updated information on flight schedules and further details regarding the compensation process.
