Akhilesh challenges Yogi to contest from Ayodhya in upcoming assembly polls

In a bid to intensify political pressure on the ruling BJP, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has dared Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to test his political mettle by contesting from the Ayodhya assembly constituency in the forthcoming state elections.

Addressing party workers and supporters, Yadav claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party's governance model has led to widespread demolitions across Ayodhya under the guise of development projects. The SP leader alleged that the city's development has come at the cost of displacing residents and disrupting local livelihoods.

Promising an alternative vision for Ayodhya's growth, Yadav outlined plans to accelerate the city's development while prioritizing the welfare of its residents. The opposition leader contended that genuine development should not necessitate large-scale demolitions or cause hardship to the local population.

The challenge marks an escalation in the political rivalry between the two parties as Uttar Pradesh gears up for its assembly elections. Political analysts suggest such direct confrontations between top leaders often signal intensified campaign strategies aimed at mobilizing voters in key constituencies.
