All 10 UP Rajya Sabha candidates elected unopposed as BJP sweeps poll

All ten Rajya Sabha candidates from Uttar Pradesh were declared elected unopposed on Friday, according to poll officials overseeing the biennial upper house elections. The eight BJP nominees and two Samajwadi Party (SP) candidates secured their seats without facing any opposition, reflecting the ruling coalition's strength in the state legislature.

Ajit Verma, the Returning Officer for the Rajya Sabha polls and Special Secretary of the UP Vidhan Sabha, confirmed that most winning candidates collected their certificates personally. Two candidates—SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav and BJP's Radhakant Ojha—had representatives collect the documents on their behalf, while SP nominee Dhanraj Parimal Nathwani did not collect his certificate immediately.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated the BJP candidates on their election, expressing confidence they would contribute to the national development agenda. The unopposed elections in the state's Rajya Sabha contingent reflect the current political dynamics in India's most populous state.
