The Roromaster 5 ran aground after midnight near Sitio Sigman in Barangay Udalo, Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro, according to local disaster management authorities. The shipping company reported the vessel was carrying approximately 80 passengers and 24 rolling cargo units at the time of the incident.

Responding coast guard and local emergency personnel mobilized rapidly to the grounding site, successfully evacuating all passengers and crew members from the distressed vessel. No casualties were reported in connection with the incident, officials said.

The cause of the grounding was not immediately disclosed. Authorities have begun preliminary investigations into the circumstances that led to the vessel running aground in the waterway between Mindoro and the Visayas region.

The Roromaster 5 is a multipurpose ro-ro vessel that regularly serves inter-island routes in the Philippines. Recovery and salvage operations were expected to commence once assessments of the vessel's condition were completed.
